I can’t remember the last time we had a completely open calendar, unless one of us (usually me) was scheduled to go under the knife for some injury owed to all the years we’ve spent pummeling our eardrums, straining our voices, and contorting our bodies to sleep semi-upright as the wheels rolled.
Right now, though, we are sans pending engagement, having banged through a sweaty, nearly pause-free 9-song set in Murfreesboro, TN, supporting L.A. Guns on July 12th, and thus fulfilling the final remaining commitment on our books.

So, what now?
Several people (some repeatedly) have asked when we’re going to do a new record, and I think the more appropriate question, at this point, would be IF we will be taking on such a responsibility.
I, for one, don’t know that we need to.
Without getting into the weeds on the whole Streaming vs. Physical Product debate, or the ever-popular Law Of Diminishing Returns discussion, let’s just say that while those things have taken some of the shine off for me, what’s more critical to the equation is the fact that time is in very short supply of late, money doesn’t go as far as it once did, and regardless of the fact that yeah, you CAN make a record at home, WE don’t do it that way, because in order to deliver what we think listeners deserve, these cavemen need a little help.
Clock & wallet aside, you’ve gotta be inspired too, and the songs have to be there. Frankly, right now, I don’t have anything in my pocket worth sharing…it’s lint and copper, nothing more. I’ve just been enjoying all the cool gigs that have come our way in the past year or two, and not worrying so much about having a new album, or even a single in the can. Hell, with eight records worth of material to choose from, we can barely make a set-list without throwing hands as it is.
Of course, all it takes is a spark. You never know when such a reversal of fortune might reveal itself, and we’re right back to arguing about what’s worthy of making the cut - 30 down to 20, 20 slashed to 10. I hope we get there. In the meantime…
Be good to one another,
D.
